Meet one of our account managers, Kara Donahoe!

Kara Pic

Tell a bit about yourself and your background.

I was born in Wyoming but have lived most of my life here in Colorado. I have been married for 8 years and have a son. We are deeply involved in our church family as my husband is the Worship Pastor and I am the Children’s Ministry director. We all share a passion for music, love to travel and I personally really enjoy baking.

What’s your educational/ professional background?

I graduated high school in Littleton, CO and then moved up to Fort Collins to attend Colorado State University. I studied Speech Communications there for several years before I was faced with some major medical issues that drastically changed my outlook and priorities, so I shifted into family life at that point. I’ve worked in several different customer service positions such as retail stores, banking and even as a barista. I started down the insurance road about 7 years ago not realizing I would find a career that I really enjoy!

What brought you to Sage, and what do you like best about working here? What do you enjoy about your particular role in the company?

I really enjoy the people I get to work with every day. When you have positive relationships with your co-workers it makes a huge difference! I get a lot of satisfaction when I can help come up with creative solutions and help problem-solve, and I also feel like I can be a resource to people who have a similar health history as mine.

What do you like to do for fun? What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?

I really enjoy singing with my husband, hanging out with my kiddo, baking delicious desserts, enjoying a good craft brewed beer or an excellent shot of espresso. With my family, l love to travel, backpack, fish and stay active, and love being in an area of Colorado where it’s easy to get the best of all of these!

What would you like to be doing in 10 years? Any dreams or goals?

Someday I will have my own coffee and bake shop – that or I’m moving to Italy where I can sip on espresso and eat fine pastries all day long!
